SPILL-PROOF?

Want a good laugh? On the outside wrapping of this item, the label reads...

*If shaken or squeezed, drips or leakage may occur. After multiple
dish washings, spill-proof performance may deteriorate.

*If child holds cup upside down, a few drops may com from the spout.

Pretty much there should'nt be spill-proof anything for toddlers. So, we have been desperately trying to find some sort of sippy cut that Nick will just fall in love with. Haven't found one yet. I know, I know, I was supposed to wean him off the bottle like a year ago. But we have such a strong willed little boy... (He will only take warm milk in a bottle, not cold milk in a bottle. He will not take warm milk in a sippy. And sometimes cold milk in a sippy is okay. Needless to say, I have been terrified! It would have been loads easier a year ago too). ANYWAY~ So we have tried and failed with two other types of cups before we saw these. It said "spill-proof" so I though we were quite lucky. So I was really excited to try them out and sure enough, he would not take the warm milk in the cup. So I tried the cold milk in the cup. Not today. So I laid him down in his crib (which he can now put his leg over by the way... so I may have another post on how to go to the "big boy bed"). But I laid him down with his warm milk. A few minutes later he was not sleeping and not calming himself down. So I went in to help him and guess what?? Nick had thrown the sippy on the ground and the lid popped off! Milk all over the carpet! Oh, so sad. Anyway, hopefully this is just a phase and he will get used to them, cuz I think I'm tired of buying so many different cups. He can adapt, right? I do enjoy each step Nick goes through as a parent. I wouldn't have it any other way!

OUR WEEK LONG CHRISTMAS (PART 1)

We had such a fun Christmas this year. It was perfect, with lots of white soft snow. Nick is at the perfect age. He loved every minute of it. Santa actually came to our house a few days early this year. (He must have heard of Clark's work schedule ;) Monday we opened our presents...

Nick opening his gift from Santa.

Which he loves! He plays with it non-stop.

And his present from Mom and Dad. (Which we opened a day later. Don't know why we didn't just do them all together?)

This was inspired my his cousin Easton. He has this toy that you can spin and it will sing the alphabet. It also goes through letters, animals and sounds. It's a brilliant toy! Nick has had so much fun with this one also.

Nick wanted to help Dad out.

Clark got a few new clothing items this year. A hat, shirt and pants. I need to be more creative next year... (Sorry, Honey! Eyes closed...)

Now, Clark has ALWAYS been such a thoughtful gift giver. He always impresses me each year. Now, he has had this idea for me for 2 years now. So he was very excited to give it to me this year. I had no idea what it was. Now, it came in a 2 part gift. One was a folder wrapped up. And the other a huge box. He would always tell me, once I see what is in the folder I would know what was in the box...

Sure enough, I did! I was sooo excited. When I opened it up, the pages were filled with familiar songs that I had played on the piano when I lived at home.

I could hardly wait to open my other gift!

I was so spoiled this year. That is for sure! It has been so fun to play again! I cannot wait to go through my old song and learn to play them again. Thanks again Clark-o for a great Christmas!!

PEOPLE WILL DO ANYTHING... JUST WATCH!

HAVE YOU HEARD THIS SONG?

So, every time Clark and I hear this "Dominic the Donkey" song we can't help but crack up. So I was telling my family about it and singing it, even making the donkey noises... And just made another embarrassing moment. Ha ha, well hope you have a good laugh!

OH, HE MAKES ME LAUGH!

Nick has been such a happy boy all day today. He was so stinking cute at dinner tonight. We had made up some spaghetti and cut his into little pieces like we always do. But tonight he noticed us twirling our spaghetti on our forks! So when he would scoop his up, he would also twirl his fork. It was so cute watching him.

After dinner we just played with him in the living room. We grabbed one of his balls are were rolling it between the 3 of us. After a while he picked it up and started tying to dribble it! Clark and I looked at each other in amazement. This is something we haven't taught him before! We have taught him to throw, and how to kick the ball. So we got a kick out of that tonight. Also, we noticed that when he was trying to dribble he was using his left hand. Interesting, because he uses his right hand to color and eat. Anyway, I just love how my boy is growing!

WOW, MY 2 YEAR OLD...

My little Nickolas. He has got the whining thing down to an art!! Just this morning he discovered a new technique to getting our full attention. We were getting breakfast ready for our family and he started whining and fussing for us. So I would pick him up and show him what I was doing and then let him down again so I could continue cooking. Well, his fussing continued. Then we noticed him "trip" then look at us and start walking to us with open arms. We kind of chuckled. He wasn't too happy that we didn't take him seriously. So, he did it again. He walked to the carpet and "tripped" and then come to us with open arms. Wow, he is a clever guy.
Also, our smart little boy has also figured out how to take his clothes off. And he doesn't stop there... The past two days (mornings/nap times) I have gone in there to get him out of bed and guess what?? Nick's in the nude! I hope he grows out of that one, or else we're gonna potty train a bit sooner than I thought. LOL A week or two before that, his thing was sticking anything and everything down his shirt, pants or pj's. We have found his glasses hidden on him multiple times, and even a pen one time! Food (which we catch pretty quickly most the time), toys... you name it.
Guess what? He is actually not doing a bad job at patching recently! It's not very hard to distract him from pulling the patch off and he will just play. Such a good thing! It used to be so hard to watch him every minute for an hour or two. Now I can just let him do his own thing and not really have to worry about how much time I have to add on to his patching time. However, I am surprised we have not lost those glasses yet. He is really good at getting rid of those things when he doesn't want them. He has had his glasses for 9 months (or so) and they are so scratched up from hitting the pavement, floor, counters, garbage... anything. I think this next visit to the Dr. were gonna have to get a new pair. All I have to say is thank goodness for bendable glasses! He can bend and yank them all he wants and they will not be hurt. It's pretty cute though, he is learning that when his glasses go off, they are going right back on. So sometimes he will just try himself. He gets pretty close too. Its fun to see him learn.

Well, that's Nick's life in a nutshell right now. He is getting very clever. He is such a funny kid.

EVENING AT TEMPLE SQUARE

Monday we went up to SLC to look at the lights. It was a chilly night, but it didn't snow. We had a really fun time. Nick loved to listed to the people playing music. He has always loved music ever since he was little. I remember him just watching my sister Brittany in awe as she would play her violin, piano or guitar. I wonder if he'll get the music gene.
The gang.
Nick looked like an old man all bundled up. But always cute as ever.

Picture with my boy. :)

Getting out of the cold. I can not believe how tiny the old Tabernacle was!

~VIDEO BLOG~

So, we decided to start up a new blog just for Nick's videos. I had a list to the side but it just got longer and longer, so this will be a better way to keep both blogs looking nice. There is a hyperlink under Nick's photo to the side which will send you there, and the blog address is also on our friends list (that way you can see if anythings new). Anyway, here you go! Enjoy.

COUSIN TIME

We babysat Easton tonight and the boys had so much fun!! It's tricky getting a good shot of one 2 year old. But getting a good shot of two 2 year olds' is nearly impossible! Anyway. It was so fun to have him over.

Rolling around.

Playing basketball.

Sitting by the tree (just out of sight).

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN

Nick was able to meet Santa. Nick didn't verbalize what he wanted for Christmas... But I bet Santa knows! :)
His face cracks me up here.

Still a little traumatized.

FUN AT THE MALL

Clark was able to take this past week off and spend some time with the family. It has been so fun! We have done a few fun things. This day we went to the mall so Nick could ride the toys in the arcade center. He was a riot!! Here's some pics we got.

BEFORE...
He was so funny. He loved the ride before it had started...

AFTER...
But then it started... And he went serious. What a funny boy he is.

PATCHING, PATCHING, PATCHING

Nick has been pretty good while patching recently. And it's been a while since I've taken pics of him while he is patching. So, here we go... It was a good day.

**IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME AGAIN**

It was a blast setting up our Christmas this year. We lit our Christmas tree candle, listened to the Christmas Box CD and had so much fun getting everything ready. Nick is at the perfect age, and loves all the lights he sees. This is our third Christmas since we've been married. And each year our Christmas decorations keep growing!! The first year we were married... we were so poor we couldn't afford a decent tree. We ended up buying a little 2 foot one. And a garland strand. Last year my boss of 4 years was kind enough to give me a way huge discount on my absolute favorite tree I've had my eye on at Roberts for years! So we had a tree, but it was bare. But this year we finally look like Christmas has hit!
Our fun tree.

Decorations...

Tradition in my family. We love the houses.

Nativity.

This was the sweetest picture.

Nick thinks he has a BIG new toy. THANK GOODNESS FOR PLASTIC ORNAMENTS!!

ONE YEAR OLDER AND WISER TOO (...HOPEFULLY)

Today I turned 26. I had such a fun day! Clark-o let me sleep in a bit. My cute boys woke me up and breakfast was all ready for me. They made me waffles (one of my favorite breakfasts). i took pics of most the activities. Thanks to everyone who sent b-day wishes to me. You are all so thoughtful. I'm glad to have you in my life! And a special thanks to my WONDERFUL HUSBAND for a great birthday. Clark and Nick got out early this morning and surprised me with a beautiful flower and Cella's chocolates!! My favorite Christmas treat ever!
Ashley came over yesterday for a bit. It was fun to have her here.

Nickolas had fun with her shoes. :)

Some of you know I'm a huge puzzle fan! I can't wait to start this one. (Thanks Jess!)

Clark and I on our date.

One of our favorite birthday traditions is to go to The Bombay House. We both fell in love Indian food after we ate here. The atmosphere is so fun there. Great service. And AMAZING FOOD!
